Maranatha Ministries and Chapel was established on July 30th, 2000, by Bishop Joseph H. Gatururi. Three families attended the first service, and the first offering was 176 Kes.
As the ministry progressed, the first wedding was held on November 8th, 2001, and a baptism service later on December 2nd, of the same year. Since then, many weddings and baptisms have taken place.
When the ministry began the services were conducted in a small hired class, which was about 10x12ft. As time went by the ministry started to occupy more classes due to the increase of members and we started an initiative to purchase the land for the church. God has been gracious to us and today the ministry owns the land and the sanctuary is 86x61ft.
God has blessed us with dedicated men and women who stand and support the ministry. As years passed, God has not only enabled us to increase in terms of size and membership, but He has also enabled us to open other branches in various parts of the country eg Kisii, Muranga, Kawangware, Rongai, and Waithaka.
Since the ministry began, we have received many testimonies of God's work in our members’ lives, including healing, deliverance, and financial breakthroughs.
This far we have come, God has truly been Ebenezer. All glory and honor to him as he continues to lead us.
